F1 drivers are warning about something dangerous

March 29, 2026

After Oliver Bearman’s 50G crash in Japan, drivers are calling for urgent action. This wasn’t just bad luck it exposed a deeper issue with the 2026 regulations. Energy management is creating massive speed differences between cars sometimes up to 50 kmh. From a driver’s perspective this is no longer pure racing it is unpredictable and risky. Several drivers had already warned this would happen.

At the same time Max Verstappen is questioning his future in Formula 1 saying the new cars feel unnatural and overly complex.

F1 now faces a real dilemma how do you keep the racing exciting without compromising safety and can the sport afford to ignore its drivers
