Williams F1 unveils a unique livery at Silverstone, honouring its 1005 employees with their names displayed on the Union Jack.
Williams F1 is going big for its home Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend. The team has designed a special livery, featuring the colours of the UK flag, the Union Jack. A closer look reveals the names of the 1005 members of the Williams F1 team also affixed and displayed on the livery and the national flag.
On the occasion of this special Grand Prix, Jenson Button will drive his first career F1 car, a Williams FW22 from 2000, around the Silverstone track.
The only downside to this very British tableau: the third Williams F1 driver in FP1 will not be Zak O’Sullivan but… Argentine Franco Colapinto!
Williams F1 will also entertain the general public, with activities starting on Thursday for families and children (garage tours, etc.). Not to mention special activities planned in the fan zone in London at Piccadilly Circus.
James Vowles, the team principal, is proud to pay tribute to his team and country through this special livery—even though the weekend looks challenging on track for Williams F1 at Silverstone…

Finally, Logan Sargeant may be racing his last F1 Grand Prix with Williams at Silverstone, a circuit he knows well and enjoys.
