Max Verstappen claimed victory in this season’s second Sprint, held this time at the Miami circuit in Florida.
Max Verstappen secured the Miami Grand Prix Sprint, finishing a few seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari after 19 laps.
Sergio Perez completed the podium, followed by Daniel Ricciardo’s Racing Bulls, who made a memorable impression.
Carlos Sainz finished fifth in the race, crossing the line ahead of Oscar Piastri, the only McLaren driver to finish after the elimination of his teammate Lando Norris at the start.
Nico Hülkenberg and Lewis Hamilton rounded out the top 8. Yuki Tsunoda ended just outside the points after being overtaken by the seven-time Formula 1 world champion’s Mercedes on the final lap.
Attention now turns to the conventional qualifying session, which will set the starting grid for tomorrow’s Miami Grand Prix. The session will start at 21:00 GMT.
