Horner Celebrates Red Bull’s Dominant Double in Japan

07/04/2024

Following a decisive one-two finish at the Japanese GP, Christian Horner praised Red Bull’s rebound from their Australian GP setback.

Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull, naturally expressed his delight at the one-two finish secured by Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez at today’s Japanese Grand Prix.

It serves as a great way to move past the withdrawal and loss in Australia.

“It’s fantastic to bounce back with a one-two in Japan, the home country of Honda. An impressive performance, superb driving by Max, and Checo once again put in a solid performance.”

“It’s an impressive achievement. We dominated the front row, secured a one-two finish, the fastest lap, and the quickest pit stop. So, it’s an overall great team performance.”

However, Horner distinctly notes that the victory was far less straightforward to achieve at this very circuit than it was just a few months ago.

“You can see there’s clearly a convergence, and that’s quite normal when you have stable regulations. We’re under pressure, though we still maintain a slight edge.”

“I’m sure this will only converge further over the season, so it’s important to score points as early as possible before the development race begins.”

“And now we’re heading to China for the first sprint weekend of the year, which will be a big unknown since the track and the tires have evolved significantly since our last time there (in 2019).”
