Leclerc hopes to see progress continue into 2024

17/02/2024

In 2023, Charles Leclerc highlighted Ferrari’s pivotal changes, driving their Formula 1 aspirations with newfound direction and teamwork.

Charles Leclerc is convinced that Ferrari has made a positive turn during the 2023 season. The Scuderia driver is confident that the developments made throughout the year have helped the team understand the direction they needed to take.

“Since we started this second part of the season, the whole team has shown great motivation,” notes Leclerc. “I vividly remember the moment when we conducted our special test in Zandvoort during the free practice sessions, where we all sat down and had very clear results in front of us.”

“I think this greatly motivated the team because we realized what the weak points of the car were, where we needed to work, and which direction we needed to go.”

“And from that moment on, everyone is fully on board with the decisions made, and everything makes sense. After three or four races, we introduced the new floor in Japan, and it was immediately a step forward in terms of wind sensitivity, but also for the front axle.”

The Monegasque now wants to see progress continue and hopes that the new SF-24 car will allow him to return to the top.

“I really hope that this car can continue the momentum we’ve had since the second part of last year. I don’t think this is a new optimism at the moment – I think it started six months ago – but it’s a good thing to see and it’s exciting for the future.”
