Haas F1 unveils the livery of its new VF-24

02/02/2024

Haas F1 has revealed its 2024 VF-24 livery, marking a season of transformation under new leadership. Ayao Komatsu takes the helm as team principal, ushering in a fresh era for the American racing outfit.

Haas F1 becomes the second team to unveil their 2024 livery, following McLaren’s surprise reveal at the end of January. The American team embarks on a season of renewal, now led by someone other than Günther Steiner for the first time.

Ayao Komatsu now holds the position of team principal, leading a squad with Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen as its drivers. The new technical director, replacing Simone Resta, is Andrea De Zordo. The colors of Haas for 2024 are finally revealed.

The large Haas logo on the sidepods, along with the colors of its partner MoneyGram, are prominently featured. Carbon is still used in this livery to reduce weight, even more so than in the VF-23.

“Improving performance” with the VF-24

The true car will be revealed on February 11, when Haas presents the VF-24 during its shakedown. That’s when the technical direction taken by the team after two years of struggles to evolve its car will be known.

The renders, however, suggest the technical path Haas has chosen for its future car, featuring sidepods designed for downwashing and very thin air intakes. But as often, this render is provisional and likely not fully representative of the car as a whole.

“I am eager to see the VF-24 roll out and race, a sentiment I know is shared with our partners and the entire team,” said Gene Haas, CEO and owner of Haas F1.

“With Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, we also know we have an excellent pair of drivers at the wheel, whose experience will prove valuable once again in developing our program throughout the year.”

“We’ve used the off-season to implement processes that will make us better and, ultimately, improve our overall performance. We’ll soon see how we fare.”

Komatsu is “realistic”, MoneyGram is “proud”

Alex Holmes, CEO of MoneyGram, celebrates the launch of their second season as the team’s title sponsor: “As we begin our second year of partnership with the team, we’re extremely proud that our name and logo are an integral part of the stunning VF-24.”

“Last year, our partnership allowed MoneyGram to deliver impactful branding, accelerate brand awareness, and boost customer engagement, so we’re looking forward to what this season holds.”

Ayao Komatsu, the team’s new principal, is cautiously eager to kick off this new season, his first in charge of the team: “We are realistic about our expectations for the VF-24, but it’s always an exciting time in a Formula 1 season to unveil the car.”

“There’s a lot of work ahead of us to progress and increase our performance, but everyone is highly motivated and eager to hit the track with the VF-24. I know we will maximize our time in Bahrain to address all the points we need to work on. We’re looking forward to starting the season.”
