Scuderia Ferrari announces the SF-24, their new challenger for the 2024 Formula 1 season. Continuing their naming tradition, this car marks a significant step in the team’s hybrid era journey.
The Scuderia Ferrari’s F1 car for the upcoming season will be named SF-24.
The team is continuing the tradition of the past years which has spanned almost the entire hybrid era of Formula 1. SF, of course, stands for Scuderia Ferrari, followed by the current year’s number. Internally, the car was known as Project 676 until now.
This naming convention was first used on the SF15-T in 2015, the second season of the hybrid era, and the only exception since then occurred in 2022, when the name F1-75 celebrated the company’s 75th anniversary.
This year’s F1 will be launched on February 13th at Maranello, live on the Internet. A private 200-kilometer shakedown will follow, as last year (photo below).
