Krack Optimistic After Bahrain: “A Promising Start”

03/03/2024

Kicking off the season, Aston Martin F1 clinches a solid double points finish at Bahrain GP, signaling a promising start.

Aston Martin F1 emerged as the fifth force on the grid at the Bahrain Grand Prix, with Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll finishing ninth and tenth. Their boss, Mike Krack, is pleased with a double points finish.

“We met our goal of bringing both cars into the points, and it’s a good way to start the new season – so a big thank you to the entire team in Silverstone and trackside,” stated the Luxembourger.

“We optimized things in Bahrain, given our race pace, and scoring points is a reward for the team’s hard work over the past weeks. Lance’s brilliant comeback after being hit by Hülkenberg, sending him into a spin at the first corner, was commendable.”

Alonso made a strategic shift during the race, and Krack explains why: “The strategy for Fernando was designed to keep our options open in case of a Safety Car. In the end, it was a straightforward race for him.”

“However, the conclusion is clear: we need a bit more performance to challenge the teams ahead, but even though it’s just one race, one track, we’re going to work hard over the next few days to make progress in Jeddah next weekend.”
