Andretti Global pushes forward with their Formula 1 ambitions, launching a pivotal new phase. Despite initial setbacks, their commitment shines through with a strategic European base and advanced facilities.

“We have initiated the next phase of our preparations to compete in the Formula 1 World Championship,” Andretti announces in the opening sentence of their most recent press release: the team is undeterred by the rejection of their Formula 1 project.

Andretti Global continues its efforts to join F1, following work on a single-seater prototype and the opening of a new factory at Silverstone Park, adjacent to the circuit of the same name. It is in this valley between Northampton and Oxford, home to most teams, that Andretti has now established itself.

This represents a “British home for the Andretti family,” as the press release explains. The 80 individuals currently involved in establishing the Andretti Cadillac project were present for the inauguration of these new premises.

This 4500 m² facility will enable the team to stay prepared to move forward depending on the project’s development and its acceptance by Formula 1 and the teams. It is a versatile space designed to accommodate machinery, R&D, manufacturing, as well as meeting and reception areas.

Andretti’s other British site in Banbury will continue to serve Formula E. The F1 project will continue to evolve between Silverstone, the American factory in Indiana, and General Motors’ GM Tech Center in North Carolina. The Silverstone site will continue to develop, as the release explains.

“The new facility will be completed in several phases, depending on business and sporting requirements and workforce needs. As we build an American team, having a European base is an excellent way to attract the best talent in F1 and to house cutting-edge machinery.”
