Amid Red Bull’s current unrest, Lewis Hamilton proposes Ferrari might attract Adrian Newey by 2025, proving transfers’ unpredictable nature.
Lewis Hamilton hinted that Ferrari might lure Adrian Newey for 2025 amid the current turmoil at Red Bull, stating that his own switch to the Scuderia proves “anything is possible.”
Hamilton had claimed on Wednesday that Max Verstappen was certainly on Toto Wolff’s shortlist of drivers to replace him at Mercedes despite Verstappen’s ongoing Red Bull contract until 2028.
And he suggested that Ferrari could also seize the opportunity to make a move for Newey.
Adrian has been frequently linked with a transfer to Ferrari throughout his career, with the Italian team even close to securing his signature after the end of Red Bull’s dominant era with Sebastian Vettel in 2014.
When asked if he could see Newey joining Ferrari, Hamilton told the media in Jeddah, “Again, I think my future transfer has shown that anything is possible and the next six months are going to be really interesting.”
“I don’t have any information regarding Adrian, but I know that Adrian obviously gets all the praise for the work that everyone does at Red Bull.”
“I know he plays a big role there, of course, but I also know that there are so many engineers in the background who play a significant part in a team’s development and a Formula 1 car. And it’s not down to just one person.”
“Anyway, it’s not my decision. I’m competing against him this year for now, and I can’t really talk about next year yet.”
