Following his exit from Ferrari, Carlos Sainz is in pursuit of a Formula 1 project for 2025 that promises victory. The Spaniard emphasizes the importance of a competitive and visionary team for his future.
Carlos Sainz has stated he desires a project that “allows me to win” as he looks to secure a Formula 1 seat for 2025 following the announcement of his departure from Ferrari.
Sainz Seeks Winning F1 Future
The Spaniard is on the hunt for his next team as he will be replaced by Lewis Hamilton, but the current Ferrari driver isn’t in a rush to secure his future.
When asked about the kind of project he’s seeking, his primary requirement was for a project that would enable him to compete for victories.
“I’m firstly looking for a project that allows me to win as soon as possible,” he said in the Sakhir paddock.
“But, of course, you also have to look at a project from a medium to long-term perspective. Building a strong team takes time. It also takes time for a team to understand the driver and the driver to understand the team.”
“So, with these two factors in mind, which you must include in the equation, I will make my decision, taking my time accordingly.”
Sainz Open to Red Bull Move
Sainz acknowledged that his name had been linked with nearly every team, but one that has recently emerged as a frontrunner is Red Bull, with his father, Carlos Sainz Snr, seen speaking to the team’s top officials yesterday.
Regarding a potential return to his former team, Sainz stated he was “completely open-minded.”
“Obviously, I need to have conversations with everyone to see what each offers and what each has in mind. And then, with all these options in place, I will choose what’s best for my career and for myself as an individual and as a driver, but the good news is that I have time.”
“If you’ve seen my father going to say hello to Helmut Marko, you must remember he has an excellent relationship with him, just as we have a good relationship with Toto Wolff. With everyone on the grid, it’s normal at this time of the year. It’s been three or four months since we’ve seen each other, so you go and say hello to everyone.”
