Lewis Hamilton finds the new Mercedes W15 more enjoyable and manageable. Following a successful test run, he acknowledges the need for further progress but praises the team’s efforts and the car’s potential.
Lewis Hamilton conducted his first test run of 2024 this Thursday. The Mercedes F1 driver managed a trouble-free session, praising the new car for being far more manageable than its predecessors, as the team has shifted to a new concept.
“The day was productive,” Hamilton stated. “We learned a lot about the W15, both over long runs and a single lap. We’ve definitely improved this year’s car, and it’s much more pleasant to drive.”
“A big thank you to everyone at Brackley and Brixworth for the efforts that have been put in over the past year. I’m truly grateful for all the work done.”
Tomorrow, he will share the day with George Russell, and the two will complete Mercedes’ winter testing program before next week’s Bahrain Grand Prix.
“We still have progress to make, of course. But it’s a good foundation we can work on. We’re going to keep our heads down to find improvements, both during the end of testing and next week. I’m looking forward to getting back in the car tomorrow morning and continuing to learn.”
