Visa Cash App RB recently showcased the VCARB 01, its F1 2024 contender, in Las Vegas. The car’s design recalls Toro Rosso’s era with a modern twist and technical upgrades for the new season.
After recently unveiling its name, the Visa Cash App RB team presented its visual identity by revealing its Formula 1 car for the 2024 season, named VCARB 01, during an event organized in Las Vegas.
Regarding the livery, predominantly blue, it clearly recalls the last years under the Toro Rosso name. The Red Bull bull appears in silver, notably on the engine cover, as well as “Visa” on the sidepods.
While the wings are mainly carbon-colored, as are the lower parts of the sidepods and chassis, two white lines bordered by red are also present, one starting above the sidepod inlet stretching towards the rear, the other on the sides and on the top part of the front chassis.
Technically, studio images reveal that after adopting Red Bull’s rear suspension at the end of last season, the team has opted for a pull-rod front suspension for 2024.
Although the car presented retains many characteristics of the AT04, one of the most obvious changes is at the sidepods, particularly their inlet. It might be necessary to wait for the shakedown, scheduled in Misano on February 12, to see a bit more.
Visa Cash App RB’s New F1 Chapter
Visa Cash App RB is the new name for the other team on the grid belonging to the Red Bull group, formerly known as Toro Rosso (which means “Red Bull” in Italian) between 2006 and 2019 and AlphaTauri (fashion brand of the energy drink giant) between 2020 and 2023.
This new identity change highlights the two American sponsors that give it its name, which has been much discussed during the off-season.
The 2024 campaign will mark a turning point for the team, under the new direction of Red Bull. First, because its objectives have been revised: no longer playing the role of a nursery for young talents from the Austrian feeder, the project now combines a real sporting ambition.
Then, because the management has greatly changed with the departure of the emblematic Franz Tost to make way for a duo composed of Peter Bayer (CEO) and Laurent Mekies (team director). Finally, because the methods have evolved, based on a closer alignment with the sister team and a strengthening of its English factory, located not far from the Milton Keynes campus.
The car will be entrusted, as in the second part of the 2023 season, to the duo of Yuki Tsunoda, who will start his fourth season in F1, and Daniel Ricciardo, an eight-time Grand Prix winner, who will participate in his 14th season.
