Mercedes F1 arrives at Silverstone brimming with optimism. “Everyone is focused on maintaining this positive momentum,” says team director Toto Wolff, as they aim for another strong performance.
Mercedes F1 secured a fortunate first win in Austria this season, but according to Toto Wolff, Mercedes F1’s director, this does not overshadow the positive trend followed by the German team and its drivers with a W15 that is increasingly competitive and finally on the right track in terms of development.
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell arrive at Silverstone this weekend, eager to shine in front of their home crowd, with new upgrades once again planned. Can they finally secure the top spot outright? Wolff remains cautious, of course.
“We head to Silverstone encouraged by our weekend in Austria. We capitalized on the opportunities presented to clinch the victory,” admits Wolff.
“We were running third on the track, not too far from the leading pair. When they clashed, we were there to take advantage. This is due to the hard work of everyone at Brackley and Brixworth over the past few months.”
“Our incremental gains have brought us closer to the front and turned us into regular podium contenders. Everyone is focused on maintaining this positive trajectory and fighting for consistent victories.”
“We are optimistic about our ability to achieve this. There is great energy and momentum within the team, and last weekend’s result only adds to it.”
“As for this weekend, Silverstone is somewhat of a home race for our team, being close to our two technical centers in Brackley and Brixworth. It’s always fantastic to see members of our factories in the stands.”
“I’m sure the British fans will also be out in force to cheer on the team, as well as Lewis and George. The atmosphere is exceptional every year. On track, the battle at the front is tight. We will need to be at our best to fight for the podium again. That is our goal, and we are eager to take on this challenge.”
