Mike Krack, born on March 18, 1972, is a motorsports engineer from Luxembourg. His extensive career includes notable roles at BMW Sauber F1, where he served as the chief engineer, the Porsche WEC team, where he held the position of head of track engineering, and BMW, where he served as the Head of Engineering, Operations, and Organization for Racing and Testing. Krack has also gained experience in Formula 3 and DTM. Currently, he holds the position of Team Principal at the Aston Martin Formula One Team.
Krack embarked on his engineering career at BMW in July 1998, initially working as a test engineer. In 2001, he transitioned to Sauber, where he steadily progressed from a data analysis engineer to Felipe Massa’s race engineer. Eventually, he assumed the role of chief engineer when the team transitioned to BMW Sauber. During this period, he collaborated with a young Sebastian Vettel during practice sessions, leading up to Vettel’s debut in the 2007 United States Grand Prix. Krack parted ways with BMW when they shifted their focus to the 2009 season rather than Robert Kubica’s title challenge in 2008.

He later had stints at Kolles & Heinz Union and Hitech in Formula 3 before rejoining BMW in October 2010 as the chief engineer of the DTM department. In 2012, he moved to Porsche, taking on the role of Head of Track Engineering for their World Endurance Championship team. At Porsche, Krack played a crucial role in the development of the 919 Hybrid, contributing to one victory and four podium finishes.
In 2014, he returned to BMW as a senior performance engineer, taking on various roles overseeing their Formula E, IMSA, and GT programs. By 2018, he assumed the position of Head of Race & Test Engineering, Operations & Organization.
On January 14, 2022, Krack was appointed as the Team Principal of the Aston Martin Formula One Team, succeeding Otmar Szafnauer who departed from the role.
