Williams reveals the FW46, aiming to conquer the midfield with Albon and Sargeant leading the charge in 2024.
Williams has unveiled the new FW46. The team from Grove hopes to firmly storm the midfield with this car. Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant are certainly very excited for 2024.
Can Williams take another step forward? This is the question hanging over the team. Last year, Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant led the team to seventh place in the constructors’ championship, but the team from Grove is starting 2024 with greater ambition. The focus was shifted early to the new car, and this is expected to bear fruit.
The FW46 was presented in a beautiful manner in New York. Albon emphasizes in a press release that Williams is entering the new year with ambition.
“After a very positive year, we hope to continue our progress in 2024,” Albon says. “We are working hard to take a step forward in performance. We’ve asked a lot of the team in the process of getting the car into the right window. Moreover, we’ve slightly changed our philosophy. Our driving style will need to be adjusted, but I am confident that it will be a positive change.”

Sargeant finds the car beautiful. “After the unveiling of this spectacular livery, I’m eager to get behind the wheel of the FW46 and continue developing as a driver. I’ve had a productive winter, preparing both physically and mentally for the upcoming year. Looking back at my first year, I’ve learned a lot and gained experience. I can only benefit from that in the new season.”
“I know what my goals are for 2024,” Sargeant continues. “I want to continue the progress made at Williams, and I plan to contribute more to the team’s success. Everyone has worked incredibly hard to get the FW46 ready. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and support. Hopefully, we can achieve great results together in 2024.”
Vowles has high expectations for the new Williams
James Vowles sets the bar quite high for this blue single-seater: 7th place in the constructors’ standings seems to be the absolute minimum for Williams this year.
“As harsh as it may sound and as proud as I am of what we’ve achieved… 7th place doesn’t mean a great deal to me.”
“We’ve done a good job, not a great job. We still have a gap to close to reach excellence.”
“You’re not going to get there in one year, it’s just not possible, but we will get there, and we will get there because perseverance, belief, passion are at the highest level I’ve ever seen – and that carries you a long way.”
