Can Alpine F1 continue to perform in the top 10 in Montreal?
It will likely be more complicated for the French team, which has the least powerful engine on the grid and is far from having the best chassis. Additionally, as an extra handicap, Esteban Ocon will incur a five-place grid penalty due to his collision with Pierre Gasly in Monaco.
For Bruno Famin, the team director, the aim will still be to score points as was the case in Monaco, perhaps relying on the unpredictable and rainy weather forecast for this weekend in Canada.
“It was positive to see our performance level in the top ten or close in Monaco. We knew that qualifying would be crucial for the final result, which is why we are all satisfied with the improvements made between Friday’s practice and Saturday’s qualifying.”

Being a temporary track, the surface is usually quite ‘green’ during the first session on Friday, but grip and overall conditions will be important to assess at the start of the weekend following this year’s complete resurfacing.”
