Max Verstappen edges Charles Leclerc to secure the pole for the F1 Miami Sprint.
The weekend in Florida starts off on a high note for Max Verstappen. The Red Bull driver secured the mini-pole for tomorrow’s sprint race.
Despite not delivering a perfect lap, the three-time Formula 1 World Champion outpaced Charles Leclerc by a tenth and his teammate Sergio Pérez by two-tenths in these sprint qualifiers.
Daniel Ricciardo earns a notable mention, finishing an excellent fourth in SQ3. Backed into a corner at Racing Bulls after a disastrous start to the season, the Australian knows he must respond if he wishes to retain his seat after this Miami Grand Prix.
Carlos Sainz will start from fifth place, ahead of Oscar Piastri’s McLaren and the two Aston Martins. Lando Norris, who topped the timesheets in SQ1 and SQ2, faltered in SQ3, ultimately recording only the ninth fastest time in these sprint qualifiers ahead of Nico Hülkenberg’s Haas.
