Stake F1’s C44 Shines in Bahrain Winter Testing

21/02/2024

Stake F1 Team’s Kick Sauber C44 excels in Bahrain, signaling a promising start to winter testing with notable improvements.

Stake F1 Team, which was running its Kick Sauber C44 in Bahrain against all the other cars during the first day of winter testing, confirmed the comments of his teammate Valtteri Bottas, with Guanyu Zhou praising the progress made this winter.

“My neck is fine, I’ve trained enough. It was a real shakedown for the car, we made sure everything was working well, we focused on the long runs to test the settings and get a good feeling,” indicates the Chinese driver.

“The car is working well and moving in the right direction. There is of course still room for us to progress and adjust, but so far I think it’s been a good day, we’ve completed all our tests.”

Zhou Highlights Progress, Strategy in Bahrain Testing Session

Zhou reveals that he had already noticed the progress during last week’s shakedown: “I think we’ve made a step forward, you can clearly feel the difference. Already last week during the promotional shoot, we felt a big change compared to the last year and a half.”

“It’s an aggressive approach. Everyone is working in the right direction, we don’t have any surprising problems. We’ll make sure we check all the boxes before tomorrow, but there’s not much to say about our rivals.”

He explains the importance of the afternoon session, which he was in charge of: “We’re trying to find the balance and settings we’re looking for. The afternoon was a bit closer to reality compared to what the Grand Prix will be. The wind changes all the time and it was different this afternoon so we’ll make sure we note that, there are still plenty of meetings.”
