Ricciardo refutes Red Bull speculation, focusing solely on present performance with AlphaTauri and dismissing media-driven rivalry with Tsunoda.
Daniel Ricciardo wants to set the record straight: any perceived rivalry with Yuki Tsunoda isn’t due to a potential seat at Red Bull in 2025. The experienced Australian driver insists he’s focused on the present and not eyeing Sergio Perez’s spot.
Despite the media buzz, Ricciardo emphasizes he isn’t preoccupied with a Red Bull comeback. Instead, he’s channeling all his energy into his performance at AlphaTauri, without letting outside speculation cloud his goals.
When asked if the prospect of a Red Bull seat could create friction with Tsunoda, Ricciardo dismisses the idea.
“Look, I’ve been in this game a long time. There’s pressure every season, sure, but my focus is on what I do on the track, not on rumors,” he says. “F1 is always about outperforming your teammate, but I let my driving do the talking.”
Ricciardo reflects on his varied career path, moving from a top team like Red Bull to Renault, and then dealing with the setback of losing his McLaren contract. “I’ve been through the highs and lows,” he says. “Now, I keep things simple. When I’m on the track, my only goal is to go as fast as possible—that’s what counts, not the media noise.”
He adds, “We can overthink things or wonder about Red Bull’s interest, but ultimately, it’s about pressing the pedal and delivering results. Team bosses make their decisions based on that. My focus is to drive well and let everything else fall into place.”
With this mindset, Ricciardo is clear that he’s all in for the here and now—proving himself on the track and letting the future unfold as it may.
