The awaited outcome of the investigation into Christian Horner’s conduct is set for release this Wednesday, potentially shaping the future of Red Bull Racing’s leadership ahead of the racing season.
The investigation into the alleged inappropriate behavior of Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner is reportedly concluded, with a resolution expected in the coming hours or days, ahead of the first Grand Prix season’s testing.
Horner has been the subject of an internal investigation by Red Bull Racing’s parent company, Red Bull GmbH, following an allegation of inappropriate behavior made by an employee.
Horner has consistently denied these claims and stated he has fully cooperated with the investigation. Sky Sports and F1-Insider report it is now complete, and a document spanning over a hundred pages has been sent to the headquarters in Austria.
Throughout the investigation, Horner continued his presence in Red Bull’s official activities, having attended the unveiling of the RB20 two weeks ago and at the trackside in Bahrain for last week’s pre-season testing.
Sky Sports reports that the comprehensive investigation has now been handed over to the board of directors of Red Bull GmbH at the company’s Salzburg, Austria headquarters, including more than 100 pages with testimonies from those involved.
A decision regarding Horner’s future within the team is expected by this Tuesday or Wednesday, with the long-standing team director and CEO ultimately reporting to the board of directors of Red Bull GmbH.
It is unlikely, even in the event of a suspension or dismissal, that any communication from Red Bull’s parent company will contain significant details about the allegations themselves, to respect the confidentiality of those involved.
