Capitalizing on track positioning, RB F1 secured six crucial points, demonstrating the VCARB 01’s effective updates.

RB F1 tallied a total of 12 points over the weekend in Miami, with six coming this Sunday due to Yuki Tsunoda’s seventh-place finish.

Guillaume Dezoteux, the performance director, praises the effectiveness of the upgrades brought by the team for the Florida race.

“Yuki drove a brilliant race and added six points for a total of 12 in Miami with the Sprint! It’s an astounding result, rewarding the tremendous effort put forth by the entire team since the start of the season. We arrived with a good car update and were able to maximize the opportunities presented throughout the weekend, at the Sprint with Daniel and in the race with Yuki.”

“We stayed out long with Yuki in the first stint and decided not to react to Hülkenberg, who pitted on lap 12. When the safety car came out, we were in the ideal position to take it and push in the second part of the race with a new set of hard tires.”

“A few laps after the safety car restart, Yuki lost his position to Hamilton, but he managed to keep Russell behind and create a comfortable gap to finish seventh. Throughout the race, he was able to match the pace of Mercedes, which is encouraging and shows the progress of the car.”

“Daniel’s race was challenging as he spent most of it in traffic. Starting from the back is never easy, and although he was able to pit during the Safety Car period, he remained in a DRS train for the entire second stint. It’s frustrating after the fantastic Sprint race he had the day before and it once again highlights how difficult things get when you’re stuck in traffic and battling with many cars around.”

“We are going to enjoy this fantastic result with our colleagues back at the base and do everything to confirm our progress at our home race in two weeks at Imola.”

“Gratifying” performances, according to Mekies

Laurent Mekies, the team director, recalled that his team had already excelled in the Sprint with Daniel Ricciardo’s fourth place and points from Yuki Tsunoda. The Frenchman confirmed the good performance of the evolved car before the team’s home race in two weeks.

“The Miami Grand Prix, now in its third edition, has established itself as a major event and the popularity of our sport continues to grow at an incredible pace in the United States. Here, in addition to thrilling track action, fans enjoy a range of shows, concerts, and events. We loved contributing to the scene with our unique livery, which was well received by the fans.”

“We came to Miami with some updates and they met our expectations; our drivers played a huge role in extracting the car’s performance with a 4th place for Daniel and an 8th for Yuki at the end of the Sprint race. It was an excellent result for the team. I want to thank everyone at Faenza and Bicester again for their continuous efforts in pursuit of performance. It was particularly gratifying to see Daniel come back in great form, demonstrating the skills and determination that we know have always been there.”

“Unfortunately, he started from the back in 20th place during the race. In the second stint, he found himself stuck in traffic and was unable to move up, settling for 15th place. As for Yuki, his fourth appearance in Q3 out of six races this season highlights his consistency and he proved his maturity with smart, but aggressive and super fast driving, moving from tenth on the grid to seventh place. Excellent work!”

“The next step is our home race at Imola, 20 km from our headquarters in Faenza. Having the support of the local crowd, not to mention all our staff based at the factory, gives the team an extra boost. We are looking forward to it, especially since last year’s Emilia-Romagna GP was cancelled, and we hope to maintain this momentum and continue to score more points.”
