Despite facing obstacles in joining Formula 1 for the 2026 season, Porsche maintains interest in the prestigious racing series, as confirmed by Motorsport Director Michael Dreiser.
Porsche has stated that they remain interested in Formula 1, despite their failed attempts to join the series in 2026.
Unsuccessfully, Porsche tried to partner with Red Bull for the 2026 season and later declared that they would not enter F1 when the new engine regulations kick in two years from now.
However, the company’s Motorsport Director, Michael Dreiser, asserts that the brand, which also participates in WEC and Formula E, is still intrigued by F1.
“Motorsport will always be at the heart of our brand identity. Formula 1 continues to be an interesting racing series for us.”
“For the next few years, we are focusing on our current factory programs with the Porsche 963 in WEC and IMSA series, as well as in Formula E with the Porsche 99X Electric. There, we aim to compete for overall victories.”
“This is our tradition and primary focus, and beyond that, we do not comment on speculations.”
