Pirelli reuses the same soft compounds for the Imola, Monaco, and Montreal Grand Prix, testing them post-2023 floods.

Pirelli has informed the teams and the FIA that the same selection of compounds will be used for the three Grand Prix of Emilia-Romagna, Monaco, and Canada: the C3 as the hard, the C4 as the medium, and the C5 as the soft.

The choices are therefore identical to last year, as the compounds themselves have remained unchanged.

In fact, this trio of the softest compounds was never tested at Imola last year, the event being canceled at the last minute due to flooding in the Romagna region.

In 2022, the only time the 18-inch Pirelli tires were used at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, the compounds available were the C2, C3, and C4. This year’s event, from May 17 to 19, will reveal whether the softer approach will produce a broader range of strategic choices than in previous years, on a track where overtaking is notoriously rather complicated.

For Monaco and Montreal, the softest compounds were the obvious choice given the smooth asphalt of these two urban circuits, and this approach has been proven over the past years.
