Leclerc's Podium Boosts Ferrari's F1 Revival

Leclerc’s Podium Boosts Ferrari’s F1 Revival

19/05/2024

Charles Leclerc’s third-place finish at Imola marks a significant step in Ferrari’s resurgence against McLaren and Red Bull this season.

Charles Leclerc didn’t have a chance to fight for victory at Imola, but the Ferrari driver was satisfied with maintaining a good pace throughout the race. He even seemed poised to challenge Lando Norris for second place at the start of the second stint but ultimately had to settle for third.

“At least it’s a podium. I’m very happy when we win, and we couldn’t today. I pushed at the start of the second stint to put pressure on Lando, but in the end, they were very fast,” Leclerc said.

“The race pace was solid. We lacked a bit of performance on the first straight, but the rest of the lap was good, so it’s positive for the rest of the season. And it’s incredible to be on the podium here at Imola in front of the tifosi.”

After a home race for his team, he will be racing at home next week: “It will be very special in Monaco, just as special as it is here at Imola. Obviously, there’s a lot of red in the stands, and it’s always beautiful to see.”

In Italian, the Monegasque then addressed the fans: “Thank you very much, you are the best as always. We are grateful, from me and the team, you really make a difference. Thank you, we’ll try to recover what’s missing to win.”
