Leclerc crashes hard in FP1, Ferrari suffers big blow

Charles Leclerc crashed his Ferrari SF-25 in FP1 at the Canadian GP, causing major damage and raising concerns for Ferrari fans.

Big disappointment already for Ferrari fans in Montreal, at the Canadian Grand Prix.

After barely 10 full minutes, and nine laps completed, while Charles Leclerc had set the fastest provisional time, the Monegasque driver crashed his Ferrari SF-25 quite violently into the wall at Turn 3.

The red flag was deployed as Leclerc tore off the entire left side of his car (see the video below).

The Scuderia driver’s braking, too late, could not be recovered with grass in the run-off area at that spot.

The driver is fine and got out of his car, which was removed by a crane onto a flatbed truck.

Official: Leclerc Unable to Take Part in FP2 in Canada

His Ferrari SF-25 Will Not Be Repaired in Time

Charles Leclerc will not be able to take part in the second free practice session of the Canadian Grand Prix.

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur confirmed during the ongoing FIA press conference in Montreal that the Monegasque’s crash in FP1, would require a chassis change on his SF-25.

The team will therefore not have time to complete the work and have it inspected and approved by the FIA in time for FP2 at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
