Tsunoda Slams Stewards After Costly Canada Penalty

Yuki Tsunoda voices strong frustration in Canada, blaming Red Bull’s strategy and FIA penalties for a weekend full of setbacks.

Yuki Tsunoda finished outside the points in Canada after starting from the back of the grid, having been penalized in qualifying.

Lamenting a suboptimal weekend plan with new parts fitted on Saturday, the Japanese driver described two frustrating days.

“Pretty much, yes, the pace was okay, not fantastic but decent. The positive is that the pace was a bit more normal than in previous races, and that’s the motivation,” said Tsunoda, who knows he’s under pressure.

“Yesterday was a tough day with the ridiculous ten-place penalty. I lost a lot of time in FP3 with the new upgrades, having to learn the car.”

“We want to be as high as possible. But I do enjoy the challenge — I’m under a lot of pressure, and sometimes I don’t enjoy that too much, but it’s part of the opportunity to grow and prove what I’m worth.”
