Will Ferrari launch a highly advanced ‘B’ version of the SF24 for its first home race at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, marking a significant upgrade in its 2024 season lineup?
For its first home race of the season, Ferrari is reportedly preparing a highly evolved version of its SF24 single-seater.
Ferrari has approved its first major development of the 2024 season for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, with a package inspired by the Red Bull RB20, according to Formu1a.uno.
The Italian publication reports that the SF24 will be equipped with radically styled cooling ducts. Moreover, Ferrari is said to have found “more performance than expected” in this new package!
Ferrari’s Technical Director, Enrico Cardile, hinted at the possibility that the Italian team could easily develop its SF-24 throughout the season.
“Our car has a more stable platform, and we need flexibility. If we see progress, we will adopt it; we are ready to change our planning,” Cardile stated in February.
Imola will be the first of three major upgrades planned this year for Ferrari.
Ferrari will adopt its own interpretation of vertical scoops, also present in a less extreme form on the McLaren. The most significant innovation in terms of pure performance comes from modifications to the flat floor.
