The 2026 Formula 1 calendar reveals a bold new era with Audi, Ford, Madrid, and Cadillac joining amid major FIA regulation changes.
Formula 1 has unveiled the highly anticipated 2026 calendar this morning.
There will still be 24 races on the schedule, with minor date adjustments, the addition of Madrid, and the removal of Imola (details available here).
However, the upcoming season is most notably marked by a regulatory shift, which has also led to the entry of new teams and engine manufacturers: Audi F1 has taken over Sauber, Cadillac is joining with its own team, Ford is returning in partnership with Red Bull, and Honda is also making an official comeback with Aston Martin F1.
With the release of this calendar, both FIA and F1 officials are promising an exciting, potentially historic year. Nothing less.
“The 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship marks an important new chapter for our sport,” said Mohammed Ben Sulayem, FIA President.
“A new race, new teams, and the arrival of new manufacturers signal the beginning of a new era of innovation and competition. With 24 Grands Prix across five continents, the season truly reflects the international character of our community, while the improved geographical flow of the calendar underlines our shared commitment to making the championship more efficient and sustainable.”
“The arrival of Madrid, the inclusion of iconic brands such as Audi, Cadillac, and Ford, and the launch of the next generation of F1 powered by 100% advanced sustainable fuels herald an exciting new era for motorsport.”
“I thank everyone who contributed to organizing this incredible season and to creating a calendar that continues to push the sport forward on all fronts. I also thank the fans, whose passion and unwavering support keep the spirit of our sport alive.”
Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, added that “2026 will mark a new era for Formula 1, with the introduction of an entirely new set of regulations for our discipline, as well as for cars and engines powered by 100% sustainable fuel.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Madrid to the calendar and to see major automotive brands such as Audi, Cadillac, and Ford joining the Formula 1 grid. It will be an unforgettable season, as we once again gather at 24 exceptional circuits worldwide to watch the best drivers push their limits and deliver incredible racing to millions of fans around the globe.”
“I want to thank all our fans for their passionate support, as well as the FIA, its volunteers, marshals and officials, along with promoters, partners, sponsors, host cities, and local motorsport federations for their dedication and support in delivering a calendar that I believe will mark another historic year for Formula 1.”
