Domenicali urges calm as Vasseur faces Ferrari pressure

Under fire at Ferrari, Fred Vasseur receives crucial backing from F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali amid growing media pressure and team struggles.

The mental burden on a team principal at Ferrari is obviously immense and well recognized throughout the F1 paddock.

So, when the Scuderia is struggling, it is generally the boss who takes the hit. And Frédéric Vasseur, who has been the target of intense rumors in the Italian press in recent days, defended himself very vehemently in Montreal, as we reported last night and again this morning.

Today, he received support from one of his predecessors, now CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali.

The Italian told the sports newspaper L’Équipe that “Fred Vasseur should be left in peace!”

“He is doing a great job and must stay focused and strong on his objective. He needs to disconnect from outside pressure. Right now, he must keep all his energy to continue his work.”

“I told him, and I am telling you officially: I believe in him. He must not fall into the trap of weakening under these attacks, because there will always be some. Let him work in peace, that is how Ferrari will return to the top.”
