Bearman Praises Haas for Strong Rookie-Season Support

Haas F1 rookie Oliver Bearman reflects on Ferrari debut, praises team support, and highlights the challenges of racing outside top-tier cars.

Oliver Bearman has praised the support he’s received from his Haas F1 team as his rookie status continues to draw attention.

The Briton is completing his first full season with the American outfit, after making two appearances as a substitute last year, along with a standout debut race for Ferrari in Saudi Arabia that earned him points.

Three top-10 finishes have earned him six points, placing him in a respectable 16th position in the Drivers’ Championship.

“Haas has given me incredible support from the very beginning, which is fantastic. I’m really happy to have them by my side, to be part of their team.”

“So far, I’d say we’ve had a good start to the season together. We’ve learned a lot from each other and have a solid base to build on.”

Bearman’s career took an unusual turn when he made his debut driving for Ferrari in Jeddah last season, following Carlos Sainz’s appendicitis surgery.

That performance may have created unexpected expectations among teams regarding rookie drivers, according to Bearman.

“Of course. And you see what happened to Jack Doohan at Alpine F1. I made my debut in a Ferrari, and there’s no denying that cars higher up the grid are easier to drive.”

“The car’s aerodynamic platform is a bit more stable and therefore less prone to driver errors.”

“And I notice myself that, despite my much greater experience now, I’m more likely to make mistakes in the Haas than in last year’s Ferrari.”
