Bearman Haas F1 Reserve 2024

Ollie Bearman: Haas F1’s Rising Star for 2024 Season

01/02/2024

Haas F1 gears up for 2024, spotlighting Ollie Bearman as a key reserve and driver, following his standout 2023 tests.

Haas F1 has confirmed the significant role Ollie Bearman will play in its team in 2024, following very positive tests in 2023 with the team. The British driver indeed becomes a reserve alongside Pietro Fittipaldi.

Alongside his F2 program with Prema Racing, Bearman will also be a reserve for Ferrari and Haas. The driver, endorsed by new director Ayao Komatsu after his FP1 in Mexico last year (photo below), will participate in six FP1 sessions, although the regulations would only require two.

He will drive in Imola, Barcelona, Silverstone, the Hungaroring, Mexico, and Abu Dhabi, very likely in view of a full-time seat in 2025. The main interested party has welcomed this opportunity.

“I am very happy to be part of the Haas F1 Team for the upcoming season. I had a great experience last year working with all the team members and I look forward to continuing this momentum this year,” said Bearman.

“There are several events I will be participating in, in addition to my reserve duties, which is very exciting. I am grateful to Haas F1 Team and Scuderia Ferrari for their trust and support.”

On his part, Pietro Fittipaldi will continue to play the role of reserve alongside his season in IndyCar with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. He could, as often happens, drive at the end of the year during the Pirelli tests in Abu Dhabi.

“I am happy and proud to start my sixth season with Haas F1 Team,” said Fittipaldi. “I am looking forward to continuing our development work and supporting the team as best as I can throughout the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship.”

Komatsu still praises Bearman’s work

Replacing Günther Steiner at the helm of Haas, Ayao Komatsu seems to be fully betting on Bearman and is pleased to be able to prepare him for progress in the coming months, with a full program.

“I am pleased to count on Oliver Bearman and Pietro Fittipaldi as reserve drivers,” said Komatsu. “Oliver did a fantastic job for us last season, integrating well and working on both his FP1 driving programs in Mexico and Abu Dhabi, and on his testing program.”

“We look forward to giving him the opportunity to make more FP1 appearances in 2024, with testing to boot. It’s key track time, both for us to assess Oliver’s progress and for him to get seat time in a Formula One car.”

“Having Pietro with us for a sixth season is valuable as he once again ensures continuity and has been a great contributor to our program over the years – both on and off the track.”

“We are thrilled that he has secured a full-time drive in IndyCar this season, so he can do what he loves, which is racing, but he is also there for us, as a member of the Haas family.”
