Hülkenberg gears up for a challenging 2026 at Audi F1, where expectations loom large for the German driver.
Nico Hülkenberg acknowledges the pressure he will face at Audi F1 in 2026 and even as early as next year, especially in Germany, as he joins a brand from his own country. However, he maintains that his approach remains unchanged.
“It’s a significant challenge, there’s no doubt about that,” stated Hülkenberg. “Joining Audi, which will be a German manufacturer, as a German driver, there will be a lot of scrutiny and high expectations. It certainly won’t be easy.
“My approach to work and my ethos remain the same. I will go there with everything I have and try to contribute both inside and outside the car as much as I can. That’s what I enjoy doing, and I hope that, collectively, we can turn it into a success.”
While he is pleased to join a German brand, he insists that this was not a deciding factor for him: “It’s obviously special in some way because of the German brand, but it wasn’t the decisive factor.”
