David Sanchez’s strategy propels Alpine F1 towards a competitive revival, aiming for dominance in 2025 and 2026.
David Sanchez, the Executive Technical Director of Alpine F1, has now settled into his role within the French team, especially at Enstone.
He discussed how the team hopes to position itself competitively by 2025 and beyond, even though the current situation remains quite average, but much better than at the start of the year.
For the former Ferrari staff member, the development trajectory is once again upward.
“Recently, we have managed to improve the car and enhance our on-track performance, but the main question is how we will continue to enhance the team and the car so that we can be in a competitive position by the end of this year, next year, and especially from 2026 onward.”
“The team is currently focused on a very clear development plan and a very clear direction for both this year’s car and next year’s, which will be a continuation. This is already underway, and we are seeing very positive signs in terms of aerodynamics and simulations.”
Since his arrival, Sanchez has primarily aimed to streamline processes and identify resource gaps.
“Essentially, one of the major focus points for me has been to look internally at the team, to ensure we have all the necessary resources to continue producing a car that performs increasingly better, which is why, if you tour the factory, you see many areas that look like worksites.”
“We are building numerous facilities, a new simulator, and all this, once again, to ensure that as a team, we have all the necessary resources to realize all the engineers’ ideas, so that the cars can continue to be improved as we learn more about them.”
