Alpine F1’s 2024 Prep Begins with Bahrain Testing

21/02/2024

Alpine F1 Team launches its 2024 season with rigorous preseason testing in Bahrain, showcasing promising early performance.

The Alpine F1 Team kicked off its 2024 season preparations today with the start of Formula 1 preseason testing at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Following the team’s 2024 single-seater’s track debut during a filming day yesterday, Esteban was the first to test drive the A524 this morning before handing over to Pierre for the afternoon session.

For the second day of testing tomorrow, Pierre will take the car in the morning before Esteban takes over for the afternoon session.

“It was the first real day of running with the new car, and it’s great to have completed sixty laps in the morning session,” Ocon believes.

“It was also nice to get back on track and feel the driving sensations after the winter break. We executed the planned program and identified areas to work on and improve in the coming days. At this stage of testing, having a good feel for the car and its overall balance is crucial. We will continue to work hard for the rest of the testing. I’ll be back in the car tomorrow afternoon and I’m already looking forward to working tirelessly with the team.”

“It’s fantastic to be back behind the wheel to start the 2024 season,” Gasly adds.

“It was a positive day where we precisely executed our program, completing all the planned laps. Reliability and covering many laps are the most important things in testing. The initial feelings in the car are good, but now it’s crucial to delve into the data, conduct our analysis, and continue to unlock performance. I’ll be back in the car tomorrow morning and I’m eager to continue this hard work.”
