2024 F1 Season: Teams Reveal New Car Dates

26/01/2024

The winter break is still in full swing, but attention is already shifting towards the 2024 Formula 1 season. Teams are gradually revealing when they will present their new cars. Below, F1Maximaal keeps you updated with all the presentation dates as they are announced.

The season is provisionally set to kick off with both Williams and the revamped Sauber team. The team, which was known as Alfa Romeo last year, will be called Stake F1 Team from 2024 and plans to unveil its car on February 5th. It remains to be seen if the team will change its color scheme along with its name. Williams is also set to unveil their new car on February 5th. James Vowles has indicated that there is still a lot of potential in the concept of the car, which should give Williams fans much hope.

Two days later, it’s Alpine’s turn. The French team sees few changes at the start of the new season, following some modifications last year. Alpine continues to work tirelessly towards the goal of consistently competing for podium places within a hundred races. Last year, both Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly finished in third place once, in Monaco and the Netherlands, respectively.

Aston, Ferrari, Mercedes to Unveil New Cars

Just under a week after the presentation of the new Alpine car, Aston Martin will present its new vehicle. Last season, expectations were not very high, even though Fernando Alonso joined the team in Silverstone. Despite this, Aston Martin proved otherwise. The team, which finished seventh in the championship in 2022, suddenly found itself competing for podium places. Aston Martin aims to make a similar leap in 2024, especially after its performance dipped during the 2023 season.

The following day, it’s Ferrari’s turn, with a car concept increasingly resembling the Red Bull Racing vehicle. With this, the Italian team hopes to bring the world title back to Maranello. Last year, Scuderia Ferrari finished third in the constructors’ championship, after coming in second the previous year. At the end of the season, there was a fierce battle with Mercedes for second place, but the team, which is set to unveil its car on Valentine’s Day, won that fight.

Mercedes, McLaren Unveil Cars Valentine’s Day

Mercedes is scheduled to present its car on February 14th. The German team is planning a significant change in concept. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have expressed negative opinions about the car over the past two seasons. Under the leadership of Technical Director James Allison, Mercedes is taking a different direction. With this change, the team, like Ferrari, hopes to challenge Red Bull in the fight for the title.

Mercedes won’t be the only team unveiling their new car on Valentine’s Day. McLaren will also reveal the MCL38, interestingly the successor to the MCL60, on February 14th. McLaren had earlier revealed the color scheme for the new season, where the blue shades from 2023 have been replaced by more black areas.

Red Bull is making fans wait a bit longer.

Red Bull will follow a day after Mercedes and McLaren. On February 15th, Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez will unveil the RB20. Both drivers will be hoping that the 2024 car is a worthy successor to the RB19, which secured victories in 21 of the 22 Grands Prix, mainly thanks to world champion Verstappen. The competitors’ eyes will be on Red Bull’s new machine, but it remains to be seen how much detail the champion will reveal.

New Team Name and Identity for AlphaTauri.

The name change of Red Bull’s sister team was officially announced on Wednesday, January 24th. The team previously known as Toro Rosso and AlphaTauri will be named Visa Cash App RB from the upcoming season. With the new name comes a new identity; the livery colors will likely change. These colors will be revealed on February 8th in Las Vegas.
