Alex Albon remains hopeful despite Williams F1’s point-free season, targeting the upcoming Chinese Grand Prix for a turnaround.
Alex Albon is not surprised that Williams F1 has not scored any points this year. The Thai driver believes that the FW46 is currently not capable of scoring points regularly. He is waiting to find a track that better suits the characteristics of his car.
“I don’t think we currently have a car that can really score points. Maybe on a circuit that suits us, but we really haven’t found that so far this year,” Albon stated.
However, he is convinced that the next round, the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai, will be the right time to achieve a strong performance. According to him, the unpredictable nature of a changed circuit and a Sprint weekend offers a chance.
“China is the perfect place to do it. Everyone is going to China unprepared, not knowing what to expect, and that’s where you can capitalize and perform better than others, so there’s a great opportunity.”
