Charles Leclerc’s strategic Q3 laps placed him ahead of Perez, marking a significant front-row achievement for Ferrari.

Charles Leclerc managed to split the Red Bulls and secure a front-row qualifying position. The Ferrari driver executed two preparation laps during Q3, putting him in a better position to outpace Sergio Perez in his fast lap.

“In the first round of Q3, we tried something different, and it worked well. On the second lap, I managed to put everything together and achieve the best possible outcome with the car. It’s unfortunate to qualify further back than we hoped, but the race is tomorrow, and we aim to challenge Red Bull,” Leclerc stated.

“We’ve made progress compared to last year; I feel more comfortable in the car, and it has improved in terms of long runs. We need to focus on ourselves; we can’t change the car, so we’ll try to optimize everything for the race.”

The Monegasque also wished Carlos Sainz a speedy recovery and commended the debut of his teammate for the day, Ollie Bearman: “First and foremost, I hope Carlos recovers quickly. Ollie did an incredible job, having only one practice session and being very quick right from the start.”

“I’m happy for him; it’s a special day, and to race for Ferrari after only one session is even more special. I hope we both have a good race tomorrow to score points for the team.”
