Alpine F1 confirms a landmark deal with Mercedes for engines and gearboxes starting from the 2026 Formula 1 season.
It’s now official: Alpine F1, Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains, and Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix have finalized agreements on power units and gearboxes, effective from the start of the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship.
“The multi-year agreement stipulates that Mercedes-Benz will supply the BWT Alpine Formula One Team with power units for the duration of the new regulatory era, from 2026 until at least 2030.”
“In addition to the power unit, BWT Alpine Formula One Team will also be supplied with Mercedes gearboxes starting from the 2026 season.”
Alpine F1 has declined further comment on this deal, affirming that “the team remains focused on achieving the strongest possible performance during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.”
The Renault F1 engine will therefore be used for one final season in 2025 before it takes its final bow.
