Lando Norris believes responsibility for fair racing rests with Verstappen, urging him to adjust for cleaner on-track battles.
Lando Norris hopes Max Verstappen will compete more fairly on track in the upcoming races. The McLaren F1 driver acknowledged that the public broadly desires cleaner battles for the title, and he confirmed that this aligns with his own wishes.
“I do too! It’s what I want. It’s what I said when I arrived in Mexico — I want clean battles. I want fair fights; that’s what I aim for, and it’s what I’ve done throughout my career. It’s not up to me to change; it’s the other side that needs to change,” Norris remarked, alluding to Verstappen.
When asked about Ferrari’s challenge in the constructors’ championship, Norris reiterated that the Scuderia has been considered McLaren’s primary threat since the summer.
“It’s not a concern; we’re working hard. As we’ve been saying for a while now — possibly for ten races — we’re focused on Ferrari, not Red Bull. It doesn’t change anything; they have two very good drivers and a strong car. It’s up to us to work hard and do our best.”
