Albon approaches Brazil eager to recover from recent challenges, aiming to secure points to bolster Williams’ seventh-place fight.
Alex Albon hopes to quickly put the Mexican weekend behind him, along with a challenging run of races. The Williams F1 driver aims to score points to help his team fight for seventh place and secure their eighth.
“We’re heading to São Paulo for the final leg of this triple-header, ready for another Sprint weekend. I’m excited to drive on this iconic track, with all the challenges and complexities it brings,” Albon stated.
“After a few tough weeks, I hope we can get back into the fight for seventh place and bring some excitement to the fans. The weather always plays a role here, so let’s see what we can do as a team.”
Franco Colapinto will race closer to Argentina than ever, recognizing that learning the Interlagos circuit will be essential: “I’ve spent most of my career racing in Europe, so competing in South America this weekend marks a special moment in my career.”
“Brazil is as close as it gets to a home race for me, and the fan support through this triple-header has been amazing. I’m sure there will be many Argentinians in the crowd, cheering me and the team on all weekend.”
“We’ll work to maximize the free practice session to get familiar with the track and find the right window for the car. We have two chances to fight for points on this legendary circuit, so we’ll give it our all.”
Sven Smeets, Williams’ sporting director,
“After a challenging weekend in Mexico, we look forward to racing in Brazil. Interlagos is an iconic circuit with incredibly passionate fans, and every year it brings a fantastic race. This will be the second Sprint race in this triple-header.”
“This means we’ll need to be on top of our game from the start, with just one practice session to get the car in the right window. The weather looks unpredictable, with heavy rain forecasted for Saturday morning and possible showers Sunday afternoon, making for an even more challenging weekend.”
