Ferrari heads to Brazil with rising confidence, aiming to maximize performance while deferring championship calculations until season’s end.
Ferrari looks to build on its momentum from Austin and Mexico this weekend in Brazil. Scuderia director Frédéric Vasseur states he isn’t yet ready to analyze the Constructors’ Championship standings, despite his team scoring 96 points in the past two weekends.
“We’re now heading into the final race of this American triple-header, where so far we’ve made good use of our package’s potential,” Vasseur says. “Interlagos is a Sprint weekend, demanding significant physical and mental effort from the team.”
“With this format, everyone’s work back in Maranello is even more crucial, and even before we left for Austin, preparation was underway in the simulator and continued over the past three weeks, along with remote garage work analyzing data gathered on track after each race.”
“The goal for this large team, split between Maranello and the circuit, is to ensure Charles and Carlos have a solid starting point for the weekend in terms of balance and setup, so they can focus on driving.”
“The weather often plays its part here in Interlagos, so everyone must remain fully focused, ready to make the most of every opportunity. For now, team morale is high; we’re in the fight, and we need to keep working like this. Only later will we take a break to review the points standings.”
Ferrari also gave its young FRECA driver, Rafael Camara, the floor to discuss how vital a driver’s environment is in F1, noting that the Scuderia fosters a calm atmosphere: “I’d say it’s essential because mechanics and engineers are closely connected to the driver, anticipating needs and often even thoughts.”
“Last season, I think they were fundamental because they put me in a position to give 100% and extract everything from the car and myself. If you have a calm environment, the driver feels it, and I believe that’s also the spirit within the Scuderia in Formula 1.”
He also spoke about the main challenges of this weekend’s circuit: “Interlagos is an excellent track, although I’ve never raced here, having raced in Europe for many years. It runs counterclockwise, with demanding banked turns, and the track is a bit narrower than most others.”
“This means it’s not an easy circuit to handle, but once you gain confidence and push, it’s fantastic. This time of year, weather can be decisive, as the track’s character changes entirely when it’s wet.”
