Haas F1 targets another points finish at Brazil’s historic Interlagos, where strong past performances fuel drivers’ optimism for the weekend.
Haas F1 aims to continue its strong points streak at Interlagos. Nico Hülkenberg is eager to score again in both the Sprint and the race, following a double points finish for the team in Mexico.
“The São Paulo Grand Prix is steeped in history, and it’s always very special to experience as a Formula 1 driver,” said the German. “The circuit, from Senna’s S through to turn 4, is phenomenal to drive.”
“The Brazilian carnival atmosphere throughout the weekend is a highlight at the end of a triple-header. This marks four consecutive races where I’ve scored points with the Sprint, and I intend to keep that momentum going in Brazil.”
Kevin Magnussen took pole for the Sprint in 2022 and remembers that day fondly: “Of course, I have good memories of Brazil. The pole position we secured there in 2022 remains very vivid in my mind and is probably my best day in Formula 1.”
“I love the place and the atmosphere. Every venue has a unique vibe with the fans, but in Brazil, there’s a football stadium nearby, and that culture is embedded in them, so when fans attend the Formula 1 race, you feel that energy.”
“It’s on another level, and I love it. I enjoy the associations with Senna around the track, and it’s also a cool circuit. It’s changed recently with the curbs, but it’s one of those unique, old-school circuits we get to race on.”
Ayao Komatsu, the team’s director, values the challenge Interlagos poses for a team, recalling Haas’s positive memories: “Interlagos is a very technical and dynamic track with great flow. The place has extraordinary history and atmosphere, and the races are often excellent.”
“Of course, for Haas F1, Interlagos is also special, as it’s the track where we qualified on pole for the Sprint with Kevin in 2022. We’re excited to return to Brazil and wrap up this triple-header with another strong points finish.”
