Sauber F1 announces three strategic hires to boost team readiness for Audi’s 2026 entry, driving a future-focused transformation.

Sauber Group, responsible for the Stake F1 team and future operator of the Audi project in 2026, continues its transformation to strengthen performance and prepare for the future. After welcoming Jonathan Wheatley and Mattia Binotto, Sauber announces three key appointments in its organizational structure.

  1. Iñaki Rueda, Sporting Director:
Former Ferrari strategist, Iñaki Rueda joins Sauber Motorsport as Sporting Director. He replaces Beat Zehnder, who is moving into a new strategic role. Rueda brings extensive race strategy expertise and will focus on steering the team toward a more competitive vision on the track.
  2. Beat Zehnder, Program and Operations Manager:
A longstanding figure at Sauber, Beat Zehnder will now lead the program and signature operations of the team. In this role, he will oversee Sauber’s transition to its new structure while preserving its legacy. This shift allows him to step back from racing and focus on the team’s long-term strategy.
  3. The Return of Giampaolo Dall’Ara, Director of Race Engineering:
Giampaolo Dall’Ara, a former Sauber member during the BMW era and consultant since 2016, returns to oversee race engineering. He will manage technical operations at Hinwil and on the circuits, aiming to optimize car performance.

These appointments mark an important step for Sauber as the team prepares for an ambitious and competitive future in Formula 1.
