Alpine’s upgrades pay off as Gasly clinches a point in Mexico, showcasing renewed pace and optimism for the team’s future.
Alpine F1 regains momentum with recent technical updates, as Pierre Gasly capitalizes with a well-deserved point at the Mexican Grand Prix. Starting from eighth, the French driver leveraged the upgrades since Austin, converting his qualifying position into a valuable point at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
“I’m thrilled. It’s been a while since we scored a point,” Gasly shares, clearly pleased with the performance. “We went through some tough races, but the new parts introduced since Austin have made a clear difference.”
The car’s evolution was evident: “Performance is better; we reached Q3 this weekend, which really helped in the race. The pace was solid, and we learned from our mistakes in Austin to secure this point.”
Gasly explains that the upgrades boost both confidence and speed: “The car’s balance is better, and we’ve gained performance at both high and low speeds. In such a tight midfield pack, every small advantage counts.”
The season hasn’t been easy for the French team, but this resurgence is encouraging for what lies ahead: “These are small steps, but they’re useful. Our main target remains 2025, though I’ll give everything to finish as high as possible this year.”
Meanwhile, Esteban Ocon didn’t have the same fortune, starting from the pits and finishing 13th after a challenging race: “It’s never easy starting from the back of the grid. We managed to gain a few positions, but our pace wasn’t enough to score points.”
Ocon remains focused on the future, especially for the upcoming Grand Prix in Brazil: “We’ll work hard in the coming days to see where we can improve. With the Sprint weekend ahead, we’ll have two chances to score points. We’ll give our all to make the most of every opportunity.”
Alpine F1 displays renewed energy and determination. With 2025 in sight, the team is committed to giving their all, seizing every chance to progress and score points.
