Haas F1’s aggressive approach in Mexico pays off, securing crucial points as Magnussen and Hülkenberg praise the team’s strong showing.
Kevin Magnussen secured an impressive seventh place for Haas F1 at the Mexican Grand Prix. The Danish driver was delighted to achieve his best result since 2022, relishing the confidence that allowed him to push relentlessly throughout the race.
“I’m relieved. Weekends like these, when everything falls into place, it’s an incredible feeling. I was able to attack during the race, push really hard on the tyres, and everything worked out perfectly,” said Magnussen, who remains aware that the battle for sixth place is far from over.
“I don’t know if we can be confident because the midfield is very tight. If the next circuit suits the other team better, just a few tenths could make all the difference. The car had a great balance, giving us the grip we needed with the tyres. When we put the car on track on Friday, there was nothing to change—it’s truly fantastic.”
In the fight against RB F1, this result is crucial for Haas: “It’s not always easy to score points, so securing ten points with four races left is not yet comfortable, but it’s important.”
Finishing ninth, Nico Hülkenberg also expressed his satisfaction for the team and for Magnussen: “Points, a good day for the team, a great race from Kevin—he was brilliant. He was very quick in the race, so he deserves it. We’ll take these points, and it’s very positive—a really good weekend for us.”
“I’m very happy; it’s really rewarding. Everyone’s hard work has paid off, and we are consistent contenders for points, which is great news. This is my fourth consecutive points finish, including the Austin Sprint, which showcases our consistency.”
