Hülkenberg Sees Haas F1’s Top 10 Potential in Mexico

26/10/2024

Hülkenberg is optimistic about Haas F1’s performance, highlighting their potential for a top 10 finish after a solid first day.

Haas F1 had a productive day in Mexico, as explained by Nico Hülkenberg. The German driver outlined the team’s plans and results in FP1 and FP2, appreciating the progress made.

“It was a somewhat different and unique Friday in that sense, but the car felt quite positive, and I was competitive in FP1, while Kevin was very competitive in FP2. If we put everything together, it seems that we can fight within the top 10,” Hülkenberg noted.

“We will now try to fine-tune the setup and find a bit more performance. We are carrying the momentum from last week, but this is a different circuit with different conditions, so we need to work for it and earn it.”

Kevin Magnussen is also feeling fairly confident after this first day behind the wheel: “It was tough because you can’t read too much into FP2, but it didn’t seem bad, so that’s the positive takeaway. The car felt good, and we made progress between the first and second sessions.”

“So we can hope for the best tomorrow. I think it’s still very tight; we weren’t the fastest midfield car in FP2, but I think the upgrades seem to be working.”

“In Mexico, compared to last year with cooling, it’s a big difference—it’s much better this season. It’s a good feeling, and I hope we can fight for points.”
