Stroll admits Aston Martin struggles ahead of Mexico GP

24/10/2024

Lance Stroll braces for a tough Mexican GP, admitting Aston Martin lacks a “magic solution” to recent performance woes.

Lance Stroll isn’t feeling particularly confident about Aston Martin F1 ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix. The United States Grand Prix was not a positive outing for the Silverstone-based team, and despite gathering valuable data, the Canadian expects further challenges this weekend.

“We’ve learned that there’s a lot we need to work on with the car. I don’t think that will change this weekend, but we’ll see how things unfold,” Stroll said in Mexico on Thursday.

“I expect it to be a tough weekend for us. Unfortunately, we don’t have any magic solutions for the car, and it’s been difficult recently, so it’s likely to be tough again. But we have opportunities every weekend.”

Asked about Fernando Alonso’s 400th Grand Prix, Stroll expressed great respect for his teammate: “Yes, I have a lot of respect for that. He’s raced so much, he’s still hungry for success, and he’s still incredibly fast. Hats off to him.”
