In a race devoid of interruptions and yellow flags—a rarity at the Marina Bay circuit—the team demonstrated improved race pace. Teamwork proved crucial, with Zhou providing DRS to Bottas, enabling him to fend off Pierre Gasly in the final stint.

“Today was a more positive race compared to recent outings, as we showed we could better compete with our rivals with a lot of fuel,” Zhou remarked.

“It’s clear that we need to work on our single-lap pace to start from a higher position, but overall, it was a good race without errors. Today, we executed our plan as a team effectively, and not only was my race clean, but I also played my role in the team strategy by assisting Valtteri.”

“I did exactly what Carlos [Sainz] did last year, constantly keeping Valtteri in my DRS zone to help him stay ahead of Pierre, which was crucial and helped us bring the cars home in 15th and 16th positions. The team gave me clear instructions, and I followed them as effectively as possible, doing everything I could to support the team. We hope to continue making progress and take another step forward after the break.”

For Bottas, “as expected, today’s race was challenging.”

“Initially, I had issues with the overheating of my front brakes, which led to front locking and ultimately cost me time. We worked as a team to stay with the cars ahead in the early stages, but we were unable to keep pace with those in the top 10.”

“The positive takeaway is that we had a clean start, which allowed us to stay ahead of some competitors, but the race pace still wasn’t what we needed, and we didn’t receive any help from the safety cars today.”

“It’s now crucial that we use these three weeks to find solutions, improve performance, and hopefully see a significant enhancement in Austin to finish the season on a high note.”
