Uralkali Payment Secures Haas F1's Monza Spot

Official: Haas F1 to join Monza, Uralkali has received payment

Haas F1 is set for Monza after Uralkali confirms receipt of payment, with further updates from Zandvoort.

Haas F1’s former title sponsor, Uralkali, has confirmed receipt of payment from the American team, ending the threat of seizure initiated during the Dutch Grand Prix weekend by Dutch bailiffs.

These bailiffs, appointed by Uralkali through local courts, conducted an inventory of equipment and blocked it until the $9 million payment, as ordered by a Swiss court earlier this year, was received.

However, as with any money transfer occurring over a weekend, confirmation from banks is not available until Monday morning.

“Uralkali confirms that we have received the full payment owed by Haas (including interest and fees) following the decision of the Swiss arbitration tribunal,” reads a statement from Uralkali.

“We have also retrieved the racing car (a 2021 F1 model) that was due to us under the sponsorship agreement.”

“Uralkali has therefore informed the Dutch authorities that they can release Haas’ assets as a provisional measure, and Haas is free to remove them from the Netherlands.”

“The funds returned to Uralkali by the Swiss arbitration, which have been transferred to us by Haas, will be used to increase our capacity to ensure a stable food supply.”
